Diagonal, 515

Barcelona

¡Volveremos! Hay que probar esa tarta de chocolate...

Carmen Consoli in Barcelona http://silviamoralesphotography.zenfolio.com/blog/2017/8/carmen-consoli-in-barcelona Carmen Consoli, a well-known Italian singer, came to Barcelona last July. She was on tour and besides her concerts, she performed some songs at the Italian Institute of Culture (Istituto Italiano di Cultura). Here are some of the pictures I took there.

5 Recent Movies Recommended for Photographers http://silviamoralesphotography.zenfolio.com/blog/2013/7/movies

It is a dull and rainy weekend in Barcelona... The perfect excuse for remaining at home and catch up with some nice movies. That's why, I decided to (finally) update this website and recommend you some films which may be of interest for photographers. There are countless lists of recommended movies ABOUT photographers and photography (the last one is "Le Sel de la Terre" about S. Salgado), but those are not the ones I'll include here....

The ones I recommend here are movies that caught my eye for their photo composition, colors, light and, well, all the elements that contribute to the artistic photography of films.

If you take a look at my pictures, you will see that I try to toy with color and saturation, and also I have some preference over vintage hues. I guess that this, along with composition, is what sparks my visual interest in a film.

So I thought I would share with you these movies, since they could be useful/inspirational for some of you too.

Here I am not talking about good plots or scripts...Here I JUST focus on the photography-related aspects.

Enjoy and keep shootin' :)

Here are the movies (in random order).

1) Ida by Pawel Pawlikowki (Polish film). Good for: Black and white style. (Showing on Cinemes Texas soon)

2) Loreak by Jon Garaño (Spanish/Basque movie). Good for: portrait composition. (Showing now in Cinemes Maldà)

3) Grand Hotel Budapest by Wes Anderson. Good for: color composition.

4) The Young and Prodigious T.S. Spivet by Jean-Pierre Jeunet (Amélie). Good for: color composition, landscapes. (Available on DVD)

5) Stories We Tell by Sarah Poley Good for: street/journalism-like photography and a great soundtrack :) (Available on DVD)
